I'm hoping to buy a Xiaomi smartphone on sale for £190 from Gearbest (Chinese website) and the phone comes with 1 year warranty so should I pay using my Barclays debit card or Paypal that is linked to my debit card for some protection in case they don't offer the warranty or is dead on arrival?

Paypal is probably better than debit card as there is some chance of getting your money back.

Credit Card would probably be even safer, but I'm not 100% on that due to it being an overseas purchase.

Visa debit cards have a chargeback facility if the retailer defaults, it gives the same level of protection as a credit card.

I bought a Xiaomi Redmi note 4, very happy with it though set up was a little confusing.
