I am getting a new car! (Golf TSI SE 2014)

Enjoy, and savour the new car smell. The Dash-cam hard wiring is a piece of cake using piggy back fuses.

Yeah I have the official boot liner in my Golf , very nice foamy material and easy to clean and also doesn't allow items to slip around when stuff is on it. Got it for £15 down my local dealer

Id recommend getting some Lockwood metal sill protectors as well , it finishes the car nicely.

I'll link in a sec.

Without knowing it's full spec it's hard to recommend what to try retrofitting/upgrading/adding!

I shall be sure to put all the specs and photos up when I grab it tomorrow. I can't wait, this weekend has been the longest weekend of my life! :D

I may just buy a boot liner if they don't add it in then. :)

LED interior lights, front/rear lights (except headlights) if you fancy it.

I like the idea of LED interior lights, where would I go to get something like that done, and how much roughly would it be?

Car mats are a must, bootliner as well perhaps if VW do one?

I will try and get one of those too. :)

enjoy! post a few more after the cam has been installed.

Will do! :)

I can't see from the pics but I think I would have the rear side and main rear window tinted :)

What tint would look good? I'n not sure if it is tinted already, I don't think it is, I will check tomorrow. :)

I'd honestly not bother adding the Nav. I have a 66 plate and Ive not used it once and I do over 30k miles a year. I use Waze and it has been brilliant.

Well the car is dark, so I would say a light tint, not drug dealer limo black but a lighter tint that would compliment the car.

Also, just because it's tech, but I would either replace the rear view mirror with a dimming one (if it hasn't got one) and wire in a reverse camera to the mirror. I did on an old 4x4 we have because my 2014 VW Amarok has one built in (it has an RNS315) and it's great. The one I wired in was cheap as chips, about £30 for the mirror and cam with all fittings and wiring from eBay.

Other things I would do is:

1) if it's got a space saver, get a full size spare
2) does it have fold in mirrors? If not, I'd check the wiring loom and see if the plug is present, if so get the switch and replacement mirror motors from eBay. It's such a small thing but I love the mirrors that fold in on my Amarok!

I was thinking that, tinted windows do look nice, but I agree, not completely dark! - Car has a dimming rear view mirror as standard which is cool. Will look at full size spare and fold in mirrors, I am unsure about those, thanks!

Not sure why you would want a full size spare as the space saver is more than adequate to get you to a tyre fitter anywhere in the UK. It is purely aesthetics and you loose the low level boot height fitting one in there. Better spending money on other things you are going to use uistead of a just in case item IMO.

Much rather have a full size spare, allows you to get on with your day and change/repair the flat at your convenience, rather than effectively being forced to limp to the nearest tyre shop and hope they've got something in that's suitable and not a rip off. Nothing to do with aesthetics, everything to do with being able to carry on as normal.
