Hi chaps, I need a 2 piece suit for daughters graduation, I'm not really a suit man and obviously don't like spending money on such things.
What's the best approach?

Thanks in advance

Well your location says Monaco. If you are actually in the UK & know you won't wear it again you could hire it. If you are in Monaco I haven't a clue.

As someone who is suited and booted daily at work I favour Marks and Spencers due to being good value and long wearing. Their off the peg suits also seem to fit me perfectly.

Check the size guides for each shop in advance. No point trying on stuff you'll need to alter anyway, if you need something quick. The averages they adopt aren't from universal samples, and the dither in adopted sizes can be as much as 1 inch + manufacturing tolerances.

Slaters all the way mainly because they offer free alterations and even a cheap suit well fitted will look better than something 10x the price which isn't quite the right fit.

If there's a Browns near you, check them out. That's where I bought my last suit & it was okay.

Or check charity shops. It's a long shot, but you can get some good stuff. One of our local charity shops has an Austin Reed in & apparently they're good. Sold an M&S one the other day too for a mere fiver.
