Whatever you choose, I certainly CANNOT recommend the official 2.0 headset...!
I picked up a pair in December, after getting a £50 voucher when I upgraded my contract to a Google Pixel - the only thing I fancied at the time, was a headset for my [then] PS4 - and found that the official PS4 2.0 headset (also know as the 'Gold' headset I believe) were £49.99 at this point. Bingo!
Took it home, sync'd it, updated it via the app, and all seemed well - decent headset, good sound (albeit simulated surround sound), comfortable etc. Found it worked on my Pixel via the dongle, and had a pretty good range. But the greatness lasted a few hours... my first gaming session was peppered with instances of the sound cutting out, crackling, and it frankly ****** me off.
Tried numerous fixes suggested on the internet over the coming weeks, moved the dongle around, reset it and the headset, unplugged my external USB drive, used a USB extension cable to get the dongle aware from the console.... nothing helped! I then found a post suggesting wifi might be interfering with it, so tried numerous different channels - nothing! So I returned the headset back for a replacement - took the brand spanking one home, aaaaaaaaand...... same issues!
I later moved onto a PS4 Pro, and hoped that this might help the problems (honestly, I didn't use this as an excuse to buy a Pro, Mrs Scort

) - but no, same faults. I read up more and more on the subject, and again ran through all of the fixes I could find; nothing worked - I even purchased a powered USB 3 hub, but even that failed to help.
After months of faffing around, and not getting a satisfactory level of performance, I returned the last pair and purchased a new iron instead.
So - you may not get the problems I did, but imo the 2.0 headset is a pile of junk.
