So as some of you may remember like 3/4 years ago I set out on a grand adventure to build a PC in a desk.
Now unfortunately I'm moving and cant take my beloved with me, so need to get rid of it.
Link to build log: https://forums.overclockers.co.uk/threads/project-ethos-cube-desk-awesomeness.18471358/ - Project Ethos & Cube - The Baby Grand

Now I'm wondering the best place to try and sell it?
I don't have access to the marketplace here yet unfortunately.

Where would you go for a piece of special kit like this?

Ebay and prepair to get shafted by someone, prob Eastern European and then post on here whining about it

Or sell on gumtree, accept PayPal and then as above

But seriously...gumtree cash only

Do you think waiting and slowly building up to market place would be a better idea?
It will be more inline of the current users, no?

I think you'll need to realise that it's only going to be special to you and you'll likely lose a lot based on the investment you have made in time or money.

Ebay would be your best bet with collection only.

Yeah I'm fully prepared to lose, I know its not going to set the world on fire.

Just its a pretty unique piece, so wondering where the best people to find would be that would potentially appreciate something like it?

Not MM

I would avoid Ebay and go for places like AVForums where there are enthusiasts similar to MM. The reason why i say not MM is that its more of a place to get rid of extra tech you dont want rather than big sales like that. Generally MM sales go like this:

1. post item for lower than ebay price
2. receive a shameless lowball offer that is 40-60% of your asking price with a note explaining they buyer neither wants or needs the item and that he is practically doing you a favour
3.you reject the offer and sit on the MM until you crumble and accept one of the next few offers from the low-balling buyer who returns with a slightly higher offer and more condescending tone
4.Buyer then sells it at Ebay price

I would love to buy that desk but unfortunately i just dont have the room where my PC desk is at the moment.

HAHA thats a pretty good writeup :D

AVForums is a good shout, didnt think of that, thanks

LOL am I allowed to say?

Based in Reading, like 40mins outside of London.
And honestly not 100% sure yet, also do you just want the desk or everything?

That's amazing thing!

Perhaps you'd be better off selling all the pc gear separately and then you'd have to make a judgement on how much the desk owes you after thats all totted up?

Maybe the mods could make an exception for you and let you sell it here as it's pretty unique and presumably you have been an OCUK customer along the way.

Most of those parts are from OCuk :)

I was thinking of mainly selling just the desk and re-purposing the server/gaming pc.
But not adverse to letting them go ;)
