Budget CPU for Asus Strix B350F mobo?

Hey guys

what's the cheapest CPU + 8GB RAM combo I can get away with that would be supported by an Asus Strix B350-F motherboard?

Board says it supports Athlon A series, so was thinking this: AMD A-Series A6 9500 ? Ideally, with the GPU function, think that's an APU??

As you've said a bristol ridge chip will work and save you buying a graphics card.

Otherwise if simply on a budget pick a cheaper motherboard and get an R3 1200.

system is just going to be used for plex - i've got the spare mobo/psu/case so just need cpu/ram

In which case you are correct. £47 for a dual core A6 9500.

Just be aware you can get a quad core A8 9800 for £10 extra.

Or there's a AMD Sempron 2650 -would that work?

The difficulty you will find is stock. Hardly anyone stocks the A6 9500 or A8 9600 even.

See if you can find the Sempron chips in stock.

The Sempron you gave is not an AM4 chip.

Do you already have the B350F? Seems like an overkill board for a piddling little APU doing menial tasks. Just saying.
