Anyone else seen this on social media today?

R34 GTR stolen from BS Marsons in Stoke.

Thief apparently posed as an AA employee there to inspect the vehicle on behalf of a potential buyer. Not sure how much truth there is to that yet though!

Read about it too,

BS Marson & Sons Ltd29 August at 14:22
ATTENTION!: A Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec has just been stolen from our showroom. Around 2:30pm today (29th Aug 2017). It had no number plates on, just trade plates. It was by a man in a Hi-Vis jacket. It had been imported to the UK from Japan only last week. If anyone sees it, please let us know. Please share! Any information, please let us know. It will be greatly appreciated. Police have been informed.

It was advertised at quite a high price iirc....

Skyline prices are through the roof currently especially if it's a fresh import, anything coming from Japan, S15 etc are crazy prices.

About £70k iirc, it's been interesting reading the posts on their page, it's been spotted all over the place, last apparent sighting Oldbury in the West Midlands...

If you looked convincing, I bet a lot of dealerships would just hand you the keys. I need to get myself an AA uniform..

I work for WMP and we had a radio message to keep an eye out for it around Oldbury. I'll be keeping an eye out again tonight when I'm on duty, but not sure we'd catch it in a diesel Insignia somehow ;) :( and I imagine it'll be in a lock up somewhere by now anyway

Yes, good luck catching the it in that (Staffordshire has an unmarked Audi RS 6 you could borrow if you ask nicely!)

TBH, I'd imagine it's in a shipping container by now ready to go overseas or already in bits.

That's literally on my doorstep. Had no idea they'd have something like that in, thought they were just a crappy Fiat garage!

They go faster than 180km/h so should be easy to catch it :p Assuming it's as original a 70k price tag would imply.

They ought to get market value from the insurance, I did for my Mark X.

Pretty sure they don't, or if they did it was a demo. An S6 maybe (and I know a few forces have S3s), but an RS would be pushing it.
I was parked for the night in my truck at Redhill A34 (Stafford) a few nights back, a black RS6 pulled a Focus RS into the lay by I was sat in, I got out and had a look, it was most certainly an RS6, had hidden blues and twos and all the police radio / comms gear inside, perhaps a loan from Audi? I don't know, think they got an urgent response call as nearly as soon as they'd stopped the Focus, the officer in the passenger seat got back in and it took off like a scalded car, sounded lovely!

I had a brief chat with the Focus driver, he'd exited the motorway at Jct 14 and tried to out drag it going up toward the a34 and he said he thought they were going to throw the book at him, instead they told him it was his lucky night and they left him!

Plenty of unmarked A6 estate police cars about (notably WMP ARV's which are 3.0 TDI's) but never seen/heard of a genuine RS6 in use anywhere with UK police. Not saying there isn't one, but it'd surprise me given how public perception is and how type approval for police use goes...
