Vega 64 issue after latest driver update

Good evening,

has anybody had any issues since the latest vega driver has been released? Since ive updated it web browsing has been a big issue, especially sites with GIF's etc. . and now i have just had a red screen crash while playing PUBG. The card was running in ECO mode but after the crash it said Wattman has reset to original settings which i thought was odd. Other than a benchmark on Turbo mode the card hasnt been clocked. This all seems to have happened since the update. Anybody else?

Don't know about PUBG but the browsing problem is likely a known issue that can be resolved for now by disabling hardware acceleration via the GPU. These instructions were provided to me by os4321 and worked perfectly:

Type windows + R
Then type inetcpl.cpl and press enter
Then you will see internet properties.
Go to advanced options.
Scroll down until you see "Use software rendering instead GPU rendering" and check that box.
Save changes
and restart your browser.

I've done a complete driver wipe and as a whole the PC feels a bit more responsive. I'm going to run a few benchmarks and put it under load just to check.

so having done a complete new install and tested a couple of things i.e video and certain websites. I continued to install the latest crimson drivers. Once installed again I have nothing but mouse stutter when opening videos and/or websites with a lot of images i.e news websites. Any GIF's on reddit etc. . will not load. Uninstalled the drivers and wham everything works fine. Surely I cannot be the only one having this issue?

No your not I'm having it on my Vega 56 as well. Blu-rays dont work either but games work perfectly so seems to be just a driver issue.

Thanks, having had a google, it seems to be affecting the Polaris cards more. Couldn't find anything on vega. Games were worked my fine but I had a red screen crash last week. Luckily I haven't been able to replicate that

Seems to be fixed in 17.9.1 have just tested a few apps and my Blu-rays and all is well
