Disney World

This sounds questionable :p

The rest sounds sensible, I'm sure it doesn't have to be insane ;)

Haha, maybe I should elaborate.

The child swap fast pass where if your children are too small to go on the ride or dont want to, and one of the parents has to stay put. They dont penalize the parent who stays put and gives him or her a fast pass to skip the queue next time.

Each pass is valid for 3 people.

You could get 2 weeks in disney moderate resort with quick service dining plan park tickets and flights around 6k depending on airport universal tickets are about 220-250 for two weeks per adult tiny bit less for a child that leaves 1k roughly from 8 budget for souvenirs and uber transport to universal 8k is possible getting own villa and car hire would save maybe 2k from price but need iwn food and drinks then

No Disney????

That moderate resort plan include park access?

One thing to add i have seen is last minute deals for under £500 a person for flights and accommodation with basic car hire for two weeks but park tickets will still cost easy over 2k for 2 adults and 2 Kids . Florida is so hot and humid you do not want to be rushing around staying on site means we take our time up early hit parks leave at lunch time go water park or resort pools go back out early evening its a bit cooler and normaly after a rain storm parks empty for a little bit

To me, that sounds like a properly **** holiday. Hours queuing, extortionate park entry prices... jeepers
Both times i've been right at the end of Aug/Early Sept and there were barely any queues anywhere. 30absolute max and some parks even had no queue at all. I remember going on the Kraken at sea world, getting off and walking straight back on 3 times in a row

Bang on.Right after labour day is the best time to go period.

Leave the Children at home. Great opportunities for adult fun ;)

Going next week for the start of the Food & Wine Festival in Epcot.

Good luck. We were there for the last Food & Wine Festival and thought it was the biggest let down. Walking round out local market was more interesting and SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. A complete waste of time in our opinion.

Two words.

Snack Credits.

Snack Credits offer different food? Because even if the food was cheaper, it was just poor. Sorry, each to their own of course. Glad you like it.

Never driven in the united states and as i only go there for a holiday have no interest in doing so for many getting a villa and hire car is cheaper

Personally I couldnt imagine going to Flordia without a hire car, I suggest doing it one year and seeing how much more freedom you have, plus I just enjoy driving in Florida.

So, we fly out on Sunday... Or do we? :(

Anyone else timed it tight with Irma?

Yea same.... I can't see our holiday happening atm, we're supposed to be going to St petes on Sunday, cant see BA flying there just as Irma is nearing though :(

Isn't there a good chance of it being blown out by then?

Edit: Apparently Sunday is when it hits that area.

We were in Disney World last May with my 4.5Yo and our youngest who turned 1 while we were there. They both absolutely loved it but, considering the expense, I wouldn't have went if my oldest was any younger.
I can't recommend Uber enough for transport in Orlando. We paid less money on our Uber back and forth from the parks each day than it would cost for alone! And we were dropped off and picked up at the front door, no walking for ages in a giant car park. Make sure you have everything ready to leave your villa/hotel before you order your Uber because they arrive almost instantly. We used to joke that they were stalking us.

We were in Disney Land Paris while my oldest was 2yo and it was brilliant. She was able to get on 80% of the attractions.

One thing is for sure.....if it does blow out by the time it hits Florida and you do still go, expect significantly less than the typically low queues seen around this time of year anyway.

If it goes your way......could be a win.

just going back to the Paris one , we went a couple of years back and what got my goat was the money grabbing bas$%^ds removed all the cold water taps from the toilets and not one of the drinking fountains worked , but they did sell 500ml of pop for 6 euro ago !!

Disneyworld in Orlando caters with drinking fountains etc but when we go we take gallons in with us ourselves. All strapped into the monster truck stroller my daughter rides in.
