Howdy,

What would you say is a reasonable cost for the following?

4x Alloy refurb (silver standard alloy)
4x Caliper cleanup + paint, including brackets and clips
General clean up of discs and everything else brake related

Just looking to get it done and want to try and gauge a ballpark so I'm not taken for a ride.

Thx

City Powder coating in Birmingham is £20 per wheel
Sounds really cheap that did they do a good job? Every time i have enquired about having my ST220 18's done the few I tried all came back around £45-50 per wheel

My old man charges in the region of £200+vat for powdercoating a set of wheels, obviously depending on wheel size and colour.

I recently paid £360 inc VAT to refurbish 4 x 19" wheels. It included removal, refitting and loan wheels.

Based in London.

May I ask who you used please as I've been thinking about getting my wheels done for some time.

Wouldn't be paying more than £400 for all of that.

Wheels you should be able to do for around £200 or cheaper.

Where are you based?

According to their website that's only if you take them in completely bare off the car and are willing for it to take more than a single day. If you want same day service it's upto £30 per wheel immediately. There google reviews seem rather mixed and it's one of those prices that is just suspiciouly cheap.

For a full drive in stip / refit style service you should be looking at £60-£80 a wheel depending on the size. It's certainly the ball park I've paid on the two cars I've had done.

I recently had my 21 year old Honda wheels done at The Wheelclinic in Northampton, they did a good job, they chemically strip them before checking them thoroughly, two needed some remedial work straightening them and they removed the various burrs and minor damage before powder coating them. Worked out at £50 a wheel plus VAT, they have a 12 month guarantee too.

Needless to say they look pretty damned good now.

I need to refurb the calipers now too, they look ropey behind shiny wheels.

Yeah I've got a quote back today for about 340 so I'm thinking that 600+ one is wayyy too much. Glad I didn't just jump in.
