For years now I have been breeding Budgies and other birds. Grown from 1 pair of Budgies and a few finches to about 20 pairs of Budgies and 40 pairs of Finches with some other birds thrown in. I blame by grandad as I used to help him with his birds when I was young.

Its not only great fun and keeps birds out of cages (for the most part) but I also get people coming from miles away to rehome the babies so socially its awesome.

Anyway for those interested here is a "tour" of my aviaries.

I think its good to have more than one hobby and it gets me off the computer :D

****'s sake, I bet your neighbours love you. Living next to that cacophony would drive me to insanity.
Not had any complaints from the neighbours in the 3 years we've been here. In fact they love my birds. :) We are in the corner of our street so quite a bit away from other houses.

I have George, the Senegal parrot

Another one jealous here. I've wanted a Green Cheeked/Sun Conure or a Senegal parrot for years now. Just living in a rented shared house with my friends, I'm not sure they'd appreciate the noise. Grew up with budgies, canaries and cockatiels though. Amazing creatures once you bond with them.

My neighbour has parrots which are highly annoying with their screeching. I sleep with earplugs. If that aviary is insulated it's possible the noise is contained somewhat.

But yeah people tend to put up with pet noise to avoid confrontation. Feuds with neighbours just aren't worth it in most cases.

I've had in my time..

pigeons
Quail
Exotic quail
Chickens
kestrel

But my favourite pet ever was my old jackdaw. The intelligence on that bird put a dog to shame. Was an amazing experience.

Yeah love birds too, always have. Stems from growing up in rural countryside spending many hours watching birds on feeders

These are awesome.
These beauties were sat on perches in a rather grotty part of Leith (Edinburgh) to raise money. My apologies for the quality of the images I don't use the camera on the phone much preferring a dedicated camera, so not well versed in the dark art.
The Falcon out stretched it's wings just as I put my phone away, what a sight that was.
You could have your photos taken either with a Polaroid or your own camera for a price. I think £2.50 and £1.75 respectively. But i did not have any cash on me or a way to get it.
They include:
Sakes falcon
Ferrougines hawk
Asian wood owl
Bo book owl
Little owl
European eagle owl.

Got a pair of budgies free ranging in the house. One has French Moult disease (bought him like this) where his flight feathers and some others haven't grown at all or they were there when a baby but after a moult did not grow back (I don't know his exact history.)
So he just runs and climbs about his large cage. The cage is left open so the pair can come out. Sad thing is he still thinks he can fly at times so does a "leap of faith" off the side of the cage.
He tries to fly but can't but it appears to slow his descent a bit as he has feathers, just not the flight ones.
Have put the cage on the floor with soft sheets around it so when he swan dives the 2ft drop he doesn't hurt himself and then climbs back up the cage again.

He looks a bit like this poor thing. The seller had him in an aviary so would have probably died through injury from a high fall of 6-7ft at someone point I'd have thought.

Used to have a budgie called Gar that was rather ferocious and totally nuts.
Used to have a cat that would sit on top of the cage every so often and the budgie would hang upside down pecking at the cats feet.
Poor thing was crap at flying and would smash into everything, I stopped letting him out really but when I did I would sit him on top of his cage but he would just climb back in.
He used to sit there staring into his mirror and pecking the little bell underneath (stop it) until the clacker fell off - which he promptly started to mimic quite convincingly.
Proper funny thing he was, he would savage you if you tried to open the cage door and if you put a finger near him he would just latch on.
Pretty sure he died around 12 or 13 years old.

I want to own a bunch of birbs and have an aviary. But I rent and even finding space in this country is hard.

I'm pretty jealous....

Edit: I was feeling a bit depressed, but now i've finished watching your variety of birbs I feel a bit better.

I have Eagle owls, kookaburras, peafowl, Guinea fowl, chickens, and 5 emus. So yes, I can share your fascination with birds, (although emus are strictly speaking ratites of course). I am hoping to get a cassowary soon, too. Nice aviaries!

Never owned any, though did want a budgie as a kid, currently live in London but one day I might look into getting a small aviary or something if I move outside the M25... though probably something a bit smaller, tidier and easier to manage than those in the clips - they look like a lot of work!

Currently though I do have a small flock of green Parakeets living in the trees just outside my balcony, this apparently isn't unusual for London:
