What happened to all the good old OcUK Lynching and Permabanning?

SexyGreyFox, why was Dimple an Insult? Do you have Dimples?

Long version:
You have to go back a quite a few years but the original person who came out with it also put the word Simple with it and a couple of posters followed suit perhaps not using Simple but implying it and of course Dimple was a quick way of saying dmpoole. Eventually in one thread I said I didn't like it and a Mod changed my username for a few hours to wind me up (like they do now & then). In a subsequent 'change my name' thread I made the comment along the lines of 'I've asked loads of times to change my name to Dimple' to get it changed but I'd only asked that once.
Short version:
It was originally used to wind me up and it worked.

Wow, can you imagine the banhammers that would descend upon those guilty of such offences now?

I think a lot of that comes from personal experience and being (understandably?) bitter about it. A lot of us on here are old gits now so are getting cantankerous and cranky. :D

You're right though, definitely less women on here these days and I have to wonder if we've scared them all off. :)
Why does it matter tho?

OcUK isn't a dating site, so what does it matter if nobody even knows who is male and who is female?

Funny isn't it. I remember how very different this place was before 2010, not that I knew a great deal as I was hardly ever on it or knew many of the members or its past. One thing I did know, it used to be a very techy forum. Today it has become very political. That and so many cannot seem to think above their belt. Supposed to be old gits right, according to Narj.
Yet so many act like frustrated teenagers that hasn't seen a woman.

Well you know, it's nice to get a balance of opinion/woman's view on things sometimes rather than everything being alpha, yo.

My posting on here died down with the slow down in my changing PC components.

When I was dropping a new card of CPU in every couple of months I was in here all the time, and plenty of others were doing the same, and a pleasant distraction from arguing with idiots that thought a Rage fury max was better than a GeForce 256 DDR, or telling people to assign the IRQ of the serial port on the Abit kt7-a to 0 to stop it crashing when you were using a sound blaster card, was mocking people for having a car with an arse for a roof.

Or laughing at Diamondmark for being a big old bluffer.

Or laughing at the guy with the portable sun.

Or not laughing at matey with his furry story.

These were things of their time.

One thing what won't change though is Sexygreyfox telling you that he saw queen supporting Mott the hoople in 1972 or when ever it was, so there is that.

THAT WILL NEVER CHANGE.
It's amazing how many people got wound up by it but it doesn't bother anybody now :(

bingo! I didn't realise women had no value unless you wanted to bang them..

B@
To be fair, I think Foxeye's point was more that it shouldn't matter what sex the OCUK membership is, since it's irrelevant to the functioning of a lively forum: why should sex matter?

I happen to disagree, since people's sex will colour and inform their life experiences and, therefore, their point of view. and it's interesting to have varying points of view.
