What watch do you wear?

The Longines and Certina are nice, I very much like the bulky second counter around the outside (not sure on its proper name) but that is the sort of style I like, think it looks very nice.

Ok so you like dive watches, good to know as they are a great all-round style for work and casual if you don't buy one that's too chunky. I have the Longines Hydroconquest in that list and it has been a fantastic and very versatile watch, and if you search the thread you should find my review of it somewhere. Buy the automatic version, it's much more satisfying to own and will nurture a growing appreciation of watches as you gradually take an interest in and find out more about watch movements.

I were you I would also undoubtedly buy using 0% finance, it's simply silly not to as you pay no interest and don't lose a big chunk of your salary all in one go.

The price of speedys seems to have shot up lately. Which is good for all you owners, but I figured I sold my seamaster and every collection should really have a speedmaster in it, but jeeez!

Speaking of Speedies... OMEGA Y U NO DO THIS WATCH IN AUTOMATIC VERSION https://www.omegawatches.com/watches/speedmaster/moonwatch/professional-chronograph-42-mm/35765000/ :o

Well ok they have automatic speedmaster versions with moonphase, but not this exact one, which imo represents the perfect possible design. :(

That is bloody LOVELY. Really subtle over some of the chrono's/ moonphases that they do.

What's wrong with the manual? That's the speedmaster default!
Because I am so used to automatic that I will undoubtedly forget to wind it... lol! :p Shame they couldn't give it something with a longer power reserve at least, but I guess that movement is tried and tested.

I am still very tempted though as it is by FAR the most beautiful Speedmaster imo, and I think would be one you buy for the long haul.

As the moonwatch (Speedmaster) was used in space; a automatic movement would not work so therefore hand winding was needed :).

I don't actually see the point of the Automatic speedmasters if I'm honest. Has to be hand winding to keep with the provenance.

Provenance is a nice and romantic notion, but severely overrated if it impedes daily practicality. I'm not an astronaut and will not be walking around in space, so I ideally want something that keeps going until I take it off my wrist. :) Not saying I am ruling out completely, but it's certainly not the practical option.

PS: The thing about automatic watches not working space is a long-running myth. Do a Google and you will see that they do work (albeit less efficiently) and there are automatic watches that have been worn in space. The reason the Speedmaster was chosen was because it passed a battery of NASA tests (heat, shock, acceleration etc) that other watches tested at the time did not.

I love that! Exactly what I am looking for. How would be the best way about getting the 0% finance on it? What websites offer that?

Going to put a decent deposit down on one to reduce the monthly overhead on me. One thing I like about watches is they seem to hold their value well, so feels like a worthy investment for me... Also its the start of my collection :)

I've got the black dial, red bezel version on interest free which will be paid off in December.

I love this watch, 99% positive its going to be purchased on payday unless ofcourse something else comes up for a similar price range and features that I really like.
