Hi guys,

What is your opinion on people who's phone background is a picture of themselves? I suppose this is quite specific so please feel free to add any other examples. I have noticed this particularly with girls, should it ring alarm bells that they are narcissistic, because the last thing I would like to see opening my phone every time is a picture of me!

it means either they or a close acquaintance has once lost thier phone in a bar.

I know a lot of people who have photos of themselves during a " good time " or such. I can kind of understand it to a small degree. If you open your phone and see something that reminds you of something happy or it just makes you feel good i see no harm.

For me however it makes more sense to have a photo of a loved one ect.

I wouldn't draw any firm conclusions from it. It might be narcissism. It might be conforming to a norm amongst their peers. It might be meaningless, just a convenient photo they used for no particular reason. It might be a reminder of a time they enjoyed. It might be something they use to handle bad times, an image of themself in a good mood that they might find helpful when they're not in a good mood or they have crap to deal with, a "this too shall pass" kind of thing. It's not enough data to draw any firm conclusions from.

Logical man in me says it's so when you miss placed it, it can be easily returned to you.

Depends on the photo and what they look like, for example it must be nice to remind yourself every 10 minutes that you hit the genetic lottery, that you can also quit that job you hate at any moment and get some chump to pay for everything.

Well let's put it this way; I bet they also have that app that puts dog ears and nose on their photo.

Guys come on, women have been obsessed themselves for as long as afforded the opportunity.

Look at the beauty industry which is worth anywhere from £5bn to £18bn in the UK economy depending on how you view the forecasts.

Photos of her on her phone home screen is the least of your worries when it comes to forming a relationship.
