As far as I know part of the Brexit plan is to not move our island away from the continent.

Not every country in it are in the EU so why would it make any difference if we were in the EU or not to be able to take part.

Technically, we're the British Isles and not physically a part of the continent of Europe. The modern definition of Europe tends to refer to a geographical area though.
