Case - Gigabyte with no fans

CPU - AMD A10 5800K 3.8Ghz with a CPU stock fan

Hard Drive - 120Gb

SSD - N/A

Power Supply - Cooler Master PSU 80 Bronze certified 500W

Private sale, they had it up for £80 lol now £55, I know that APU is decent and would be better than my q9300, but the plus to that system is the 500w power supply, I could sell that with my quad as I have no intentions to sell my evga ever.

I can't see £55 getting me a decent board setup supporting 8gb minimum ram and a graphics card that is decent for my games as that's all I need.

Depends what you are doing with it.

It'd make a nice HTPC, especially if it's on a m-itx board and you are considering putting it in something like a Fractal Node.

Modern gaming rig...... Not so much!!!!

i copied via phone as was out, now im home and can be more specific lol

its a Gigabyte Ga-F2A75M-DH3 motherboard(Rev1 looking from the colour), the power supply shows white label of 80 plus and no ram appears to be installed or listed, but cpu has stock cooler ha, on the plus that board supports 64gb ddr3, so faster and 60gb more than my current 775 board supports and 56 more than a veriton M290 tower with an 1155 i3(all original), the gigabyte case is atx and really its only the mobo setup i really need.

my use is the same as i have now, general browsing, youtube watching, putting music on to phone with gaming aswell, but not regular, so my overall usage isnt demanding, started making videos on xbox one again, so might install some windows editing software again rather than using 'upload studio' all the time, for my youtube channel i abandoned lol.

games i have installed on current system that i will play when im able to are:

Anno 2205 - runs fine on low preset @ 1920x1080, but nowhere near as smooth as my haswell setup, so can get annoying after awhile
the division - jumped straight to high preset @ same res and kept crashing or barely move when it did load, no surprise with how under the minimum my system is
RB6S - actually the one game from ubisoft i havent tested yet, but i played this on really poor settings with hd4400 once and was playable enough
Mad max - currently downloading due to not copying game from my 1tb drives
Mortal Kombat X - installed it earlier, just not tried it yet

ive recently installed dungeon defenders again which im yet to play, but now i have steam installed ill check the free games out, then just oldies like worms 2, hitman, star craft & 2 etc.

ideally going by Game-Debate can you run it feature all i would really need for some of the games is an RX550 in my system, but that doesnt resolve ram limit.

The thing is that the so called 500w psu won't have 500w on the 12v rail (in some cases nowhere near). Coolermaster 500w units either have 360w, 384w, 396w, 408w, 432w, 444w or 456w on the 12v rail and the majority of their psu's are poor anyway (V, VS, Silent Pro Gold series excepted). Some of those psu's also have the potential to be up to 11 years old. Don't go buying it based on someone sticking 500w psu in the title. Find out which model it is and how old it is and you can do some research on it. I can't believe I have to keep saying this but ignore the big 500w/550w etc on the label and look up what the psu can actually deliver on the rails.

thanks for the insight, but incase you forgot bud, i have the power supply in my sig ;), that £83 high tier power supply i got for just £35 as a brand new never been used unit and something i wanted(not so much brand, just everything else) for years, so no way id ever replace it until it fails..

was just the fact that to buy that incomplete system im asking about i would have to sell my 775 afterwards to make money up(dont need 2 systems either) and because i sold my cx600 i dont have a spare unit to power my system which is the bonus of that system having the 500w, i only need the motherboard, processor and a purchase of ram, a system like this is just better value for money.

on the other hand.....

someone is selling a 2gb gtx 950 of some brand for £50, if its not sold i could just buy that and improve my system especially after finding someone with a 4gb kit of ram for sale @ £8 that should give me my 4gb max back, but thats £58 and have 2 potential systems(2nd being the m290 veriton) i could buy for less that will just need a graphics card rather than keep the 5770 and can hold more than 4gb memory offering better performance overall.

I know you have the EVGA but in your post you state:-

but the plus to that system is the 500w power supply

What I was trying to say is that you shouldn't pay any attention to the big 500w on the label because as it's a Coolermaster psu (also applies to many other brands) it won't have anywhere near 500w on the 12v rail where it's needed. I know you said it will be for selling on but a poor quality psu along with potentially being up to 11 years old is not something that I personally could sell on with a clear conscience. Find out exactly what you are buying and how old it is before making a decision.

thats fair enough and i wouldnt normally buy tired power supplies to sell on, it would just be a convenience to be able to provide 6 pin for my radeon, but im weighing up the costs of that and to get ram and a gpu to get the system how i want and im probably not best to go for it, dont know why but i quite like the appeal of the standard veriton m290 i keep mentioning, i3 is a good starting point with the 2400(s)/2500/2500K being cheap enough to buy now, but also £35 for a system rather than what mobo combo i could get, 775 boards are just expensive for what they are.

The above box is not worth 55. Maybe 40 IMO. That's an old APU.

its sold now anyways so i dodge a bullet ha.

i should be getting some money over the weekend, so if this veriton M290 tower for £35 is still for sale i might take a punt, its all original and doesnt include an hard drive, but it is 1155 socket with an i3 and that board supports the i5 2500k and maybe 2600k, but if i was to get it once ive put a decent graphics card in id go buy a 2400/2400s for under £20, that is unless i get lucky with an haswell for price of upgrading the veriton, i want to be able to play the division again as my 775 system is way too low to run it properly lol
