Double Down Coming to KFC UK

What?, so it’s chicken between chicken?
The Double Down was a dish offered by Kentucky Fried Chicken (KFC) restaurants where a sandwich is formed by two pieces of fried chicken rather than the more usual halves of a bread roll. The Double Down contains bacon, cheese and sauce between two pieces of chicken fillet.[1] Variants offered by KFC have included grilled instead of fried chicken fillets and fillets with Zinger spicy coating.

Although I don't get it, if you want to avoid carbs, it still has all the breading around the chicken and if you aren't avoiding carbs have the bun, things in buns taste better. The grilled version makes more sense.

I have wanted this for so long, and now I am on a strict no-fast-food thing for the next 11 months :'(

A pressure deep fat fryer is pretty specialist kit - no ? - or are they available in the USA for domestic use ?
what would it do for fish, doughnuts, or chips ? - I am sure someone in KFC must have tried after hours.

basically 2 bits of fried chicken with some sauce and cheese inbetween. can you not do this at home already? nothing special here

That's like saying just make your own southern fried chicken at home, it will be same.

Pro tip: It will not.

Unless you have a specialised pressure fryer.
