Hi all,

I'm very much considering Buying a console, to go along side my gaming PC.

1) Do both the Consoles require Payment to be online? even for System updates/Game updates?

apart from game exclusive choices, are their any other pro/negs for each console?

the only one i can think of is i prefer the xbox one controller style.

No you get updates etc regardless, but you need to subscribe to the PS+ or Xbox Live to play online.

If you have a PC already, a PS4 would tend to be the more enticing option simply because most Xbox exclusives are on the PC as well. I have a PC and a PS4, and although I had a 360 last gen I've had no real desire to get an Xbox One this time round.

thanks,
it be only used for single player games, exclusives or games that are not simply on PC. so PS4 makes more sense, i guess...

is it worth waiting for a PS5 being so late to the party? as the pro is already out.

If you have a PC I would go for a Nintendo switch or PS4, the Xbox one does not have many exclusives and most of them you can buy on pc.

Pros of having a Xbox over ps4

"Play anywhere games" buy the game on pc or Xbox Play it on both.

Xbox offers refunds if you play less than one hour, Sony don't give refunds.

EA access.

You have to pay for both Xbox live and ps network to play online, and because of this I tend to swing towards Xbox. I have no bias as I own both xbone and PS4 but the service is a lot better with Microsoft.

As above, either PS4 for the exclusives (since the XONE will pretty much share the same niche as your PC), or the Switch for a bit of portability and the Nintendo "magic". Personally I'd say PS4 & PC is a good match.

If you have a decent gaming PC, go for a PS4 because there will be more titles that you cannot play anywhere else.

Xbox is a platform these days rather than a console.

As you have pc has to be ps4 or switch depending on style of games your after
i was seriously considering the switch but a lot of the games seem gimmicky (fun for a while then all games are silmair, mario more mario :p)

want story/relax it why im heavy looking at pa4

here is my list
PS4 Pro (for 4K support)
Last of us Remastered
Until Dawn
Heavy Rain
Beyond two Souls
Uncharted collection

If you have a capable gaming PC I would suggest a PS4 is the best way to go due to the stronger console exclusives.

I too prefer the Xbox One controller but the latest version of the Dual Shock is by far the best iteration yet, to the point it's not really a consideration imo.

PS4
Exclusives are very strong

X1S
UHD player
Play anywhere
EA Access
Gold tends to have the better offerings? At least it seems to be the case
Cheaper online?
Backwards compatibility

Look at the games on offer.

It's all very well everyone telling you the exclusives are better but do you enjoy those sort of games? Nothing PS4 exclusive jumped out enough at me to personally warrant getting the PS4 over the Xbox with a controller I found infinitely more comfortable.

I don't find the Xbox / PC crossover much of an issue as I play different types of games in my lounge compared to at my desk.

You'll notice the overriding argument though is me and what I like and the habits I have. You need to consider what you enjoy and how you will use it.

Also worth considering whether you'll play a lot online with friends and what they use, no point buying a PS4 if all your mates are playing on Xbox.

My next console will probably be a Switch.

well after looking at the xbox games almost everything is on PC.

the only nice thing about the xbox one is the UHD player & controller

There are plenty of options to get Xbox like controllers for the PS4 or adaptors to use official Xbox controllers.

Probably safe to say if he had a load of mates already on one particular platform he wouldn't be asking us this question. :)

I went for the PS4 pro due to the exclusive games not available on the PC, the Xbox exclusives don't interest me.

You can always just get an Xbox controller and use it on the PC.
