Meister Junior here,
The other basket that included the ram went out of stock, so we picked up another selection

Here's the final basket we wish to buy, but the question is are these all compatible? , thanks so much for the help.
My basket at overclockers uk:

You can get a 6GB 1060 for like 240. I say go for it.
Also, for future proofing I'd take the money saved by going to said 1060, and up the CPU to a 1600.

BTW I'd take a PCIE wifi card over a USB dongle. Prices are similar. Any PCIE 1X slot will do.

I think Rx 580 and Freesync monitor is still cheaper then gtx 1060 and Freesync monitor - but that's only if your going for sync and high hertz monitor at all. If not, gtx 1060

Not sure if you are gaming at 1080p, or above but if it's 1080p then I'd dump the £80 extra cost for the 8GB RX 580 and grab the 4GB one.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £448.48
(includes shipping: £10.50)

You can the afford the R5 1600, which will last a bit longer, and the second hand GPU in 12 months will be worth much closer to what it was when new. If you are not following me, before the mining boom, RX480's were going for £150-175, and second hand less that this. So if you end up spending £320 on a GPU, now it will be hardly worth 50% due to the huge influx on to the second hand market. It happened with the R9 280X when that was the miners choice.

Either way 4GB VRAM is not worth £80, that 33% more expensive for a zero frames increase at 1080p, and the memory on the 4GB is usually the same so can be run at 8000MHz too. :)

OK, am with you here. Could you recommend a card, and maybe should we upgrade the CPU? Or stay with original CPU?.

Any savings we can make are great as the budget has doubled from 550 to 1100 quid :)

The one I quoted is fine, and seems to be the cheapest one too. Upgrade the CPU if you have the budget, £30 for and extra 2c/4t seems to be pretty good value. How come your budget increased so much?

£400 for a monitor... You can get 1440p 144hz freesync for that money ! 27" too - why I quote that with Vega cards over Ti cards - more value for money - well was when they were at £400 .
As you can see when you first asked on the forum to now, a lot of pricing changes. Normally OCUK reset every Wednesday but sometimes come out of the blue

The prices are all over the place atm, if the op is after some deals we should maybe point him in the direction on Black Friday in the next few months?

Last year, least here and other big one they had nothing really. Even stated so , was year before that was golden . Hopefully if pound rises means they can buy stock cheaper for Xmas ... Here's hoping

Isn't the 580 similar speed to the 480? Seems a ridiculous price to pay for similar performance.

Think you would be better off upping budget slightly and go for a 1070 or as others have said go 1060 and up to a 1600 cpu.

You are missing the point, with the 580 he then has access to very cheap Freesync supported monitors, and it's 50/50 if a 1060/580 is faster in a certain title, but you know that you aren't getting Gsync unless you ware willing to spend a small fortune.

The RX 580 4GB at £248, is a great card, slightly overpriced still, but the GTX 1060 6GB is only about £10 less, and you lose the chance for adaptive sync, at a sensible price vs. they system cost. :)

Do we know what monitor the op has? there isn't one in his basket so assuming he has one already if so is it even Gsync/freesync? Obviously depending on what he has either card manufacturer would be better for that reason. :)

He has a mac cinema display but has money now to buy a monitor too, right well if that's the case then if he wants to game at 1080p then most cards quoted will be fine but if he wants 1440p then that's most his budget gone on a card let alone cpu etc.
