In your OP, you without experience or qualifications are in your words 'convinced beyond reasonable doubt that; roads are being redesigned in order to increase accident rates and endanger human life'

Not even that the contractors or designers may get it wrong or that it is just poor design but you are convinced beyond reasonable doubt it is being done on purpose to increase accident rates and endanger human life.

So yes, my point still stands.
 
Yes of course. When they repair potholes they must do a pretty poor job as they are back within the year.

Most major roads I travel on now have all the street lights turned off. Traveling down the A1 a few weeks ago in the rain I couldn't see two feet in front of me.

It's either incompetence or by design.

Yet many things I have theorised in the past, even as far back as 5 years ago, have actually ended up occurring. So I must be the whack job in need of psychiatric help. Excellent logic there.


Anyway nice of some people to completely miss the point of **** road works going on and latch onto a notion that it may be being done on purpose lmao. :D

Why on earth would someone make the roads mute dangerous on purpose? How many people are in on this conspiracy to make it viable?

I agree 100% that some roads are being stupidly redesigned and can cause accidents but it's going a bit far to say you are convinced they are doing it on purpose to cause accidents.

I was going to read the full OP, then I saw it was made by asim and the thread title suddenly made sense, so I didn't bother with the rest. Must have removed his tin foil hat to use it for some drugs.

Are you still whining about that? Even though I have said absolutely nothing to reinforce any sort of conspiracy theory, and have actually explained why I said those lines? It's because it's beggars belief.

Still have no idea what you're whining about. No, I don't actually have evidence to suggest that someone intended for there to be 2 lamp posts in a cycle lane in order to fulfil psychopathic tendencies. The notion was put forth because 2 lamp posts in the middle of a bike lane has beggared my belief.

Not sure how much clearer I can make this. No doubt we will have another post soon whining about something while doing your best to detract from the actual issue at hand here, which is crap road work.

Firstly most people will be unaware that this is happening but after what I saw last night I am convinced beyond reasonable doubt that; roads are being redesigned in order to increase accident rates and endanger human life.

My concerns first came to fruition almost a decade ago when they resurfaced the road I live on.

I think your mistake is is assuming there was any design involved. Or, more accurately, any design related to functionality. Or that a person is in charge of the big picture, or that anyone even knows what the big picture is.

My interpretation is that it's mess of decisions by different people and that the people making each decision knew very little about any the one part they were deciding on and nothing about the whole picture and that the people who implement the decisions will have no voice in the matter. Centre line not in the centre? Street lights in an obviously wrong place? Well, that's where the orders say to put them. Orders from someone who's never been there and has no real clue about the situation, but orders none the less. So they have to be obeyed - the people who do the work are paid to obey orders, not to question them.

here's a question for you asim, if we're running with your premise that these alterations are indeed deliberate attempts to make the roads more dangerous, then there's one important point missing from your accusation of the council:

what's the motive? what do they gain from making the roads more dangerous? what's in it for them?
