These sort of incidences end up shaping countries in different ways. With how volatile US politics is atm and the divide in opinions over there, i can only imagine what may end up happening in the US with politicians using guns as a trading chip in politics.

Well Obama made a big song and dance about it after every shooting but was more words than actions... Bill Clinton did have an assault weapon ban but it expired

Yep, having been to Texas to see relatives and shooting assault rifles through inch thick steel I can confidently say that the calibre weapon used in this horrific attack would easily pass through multiple bodies and still be deadly :-(

Sales of automatic weapons will surge as people stockpile, however with the Republicans in power there is less likelihood of them being banned. Good news for the gun shops this though.

Probably never, this is the same country that's had 4 assassinated presidents (all by gunshot) plus numerous presidential assassination attempts. If the top guy being taken out doesn't make them change their minds then citizens getting killed won't either.

American's need to sit down and seriously ask themselves how many more innocent people have to die before they change their gun laws.

Trump's only upset it wasn't ISIS as he could easily bat that one away.

They can't buy brand new automatic weapons from gun shops though, only pre 1986 manufactured automatic weapons and with a hefty premium at that.

I agree though, rather than shock them into thinking their gun laws are a bit retarded, they'll all go out and buy another gun and a boat load of ammo "just to be safe".

This won't change anything. They've had people walk into schools and shoot children multiple times and still want to keep all their guns. America will never ever change.
