It seems according to reports he was firing from the 32nd floor. How do you fire a weapon with that kind of speed from that distance and injure hundreds of people on the ground below?

Its about 400m across the street down onto the area where the concert was taking place. I'm supposed to be going to a works conference at the same hotel next week.

A. When the group he is shooting at consists of thousands of festival goers standing at a main stage and not realising what is going on for a good few minutes.

Lean the gun on the windowsill, point it in the direction of the crowd, hold the trigger down and wait till it runs out of ammo? This isn't aimed sniper fire it's indiscriminately spraying bullets into a crowd from a height.

The common military calibers (which odds on are what the gun will be being full auto) are easily effective out to 300m minimum (by effective i'm meaning easy to get aimed hits with in a military context) and deadly well beyond that.

The 3 likely suspects would be 5.56 (ar), 7.62*39 (ak) and 7.62 nato (or as the yanks call it .308) all of which are easily deadly for that kind of distance.

Oh I don't know. I mean they're already classified as domestic terrorists.

Antifa didn’t even turn up to Charlottesville with guns, where they were up against neo-Nazis and white supremists with semi-automatic rifles. Why would they shoot a bunch of music festival goers like this? This doesn’t have any of the hallmarks of Antifa.

It’s utterly bizarre for you to link this to Antifa.

It seems like he would be firing from at least 100m away, probably significantly further as that's likely to be from the ground to the 32nd floor rather than from the room to the ground where the concert was taking place. That seems like a significant distance to fire a weapon and injure so many people. I understand he was spraying and not necessarily going for precision but nonetheless it's incredible that so many people were injured. Terrible :(

Its terrible in situations like this when the perpetrator is killed and it leaves that vacuum of the question of Why? So hard to fully understand what occurred without any way to get an answer to that question.

The place was packed full of people, I'd say it's incredible more people weren't killed considering how slow he was reloading.

More confusement...police now say that Marilou Danley is currently out of the country. So , if she is out of the country, who is the woman who is the "roommate"

Why so serious? You got sympathy with Antifa?
Are you a domestic terrorist too?

Just heard on FB from a friend in Vegas, him and his family are safe.
He's a country and western fan, so I had all sorts of thoughts going through my head.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families.

A couple of my friends are there right now staying in the Luxor after getting married there last week. They posted a video from their room where you could very very clearly hear gunshots.

Harrowing stuff! RIP to all those caught up in this.

Assuming it was a packed music venue, it's not a surprise he hit a lot of people. But even so, fifty deaths is a lot. I suspect only a minority of the 400 injured were shot; many were probably hurt in the stampede of people fleeing. But even so, there's probably more wounded that dead from gunshots so the scale of this attack is significant.
