A teacher who had a "full-blown sexual relationship" with a 15-year-old boy has been jailed for 16 months.

Alice McBrearty, 23, admitted the four-month relationship with a pupil she taught at an east London school.

Snaresbrook Crown Court heard McBrearty kissed the youngster in a classroom, and had sex with him at her parents' home in Wanstead Park, east London.

She pleaded guilty to seven counts of sexual activity with a child while in a position of trust.

I'm guessing the circumstances were different because Adam Johnson was guilty of sexual activity with a child and grooming, whereas this lady was convicted of sexual activity only.

Without being in court for both it would be hard to fairly compare the two.

That is incredibly unprofessional.

When I was a 15 year old boy I had no sexual interest in my teachers, and would have been traumatised if they'd attempted sexual contact with me.

It's obviously unprofessional, that's a truism; but I'd suggest that you're the exception rather than the norm if you really never had any sexual interest in any of your teachers as a 15 year old boy.

She's a predatory animal. It doesn't matter if she's attractive or not. She broke the law.

But once again special treatment is shown to the "fairer sex".

Just like the woman who fraudulently signed her ex partners signature so she could get IVF and he is lumbered with the cost of a child to a woman he is no longer with and never got pregnant.

I don't think I did either. Probably because most of my teachers were in their 50's

We had some good looking female teachers (Miss Pennicott, the PE teacher, was particularly admired) but I was only interested in girls my age. Dianne Stallworth and Karen Sydes were pure dynamite, and pretty much the definition of jailbait.

But this was the 80s, when everyone was still very conservative by today's standards.
