Hi all,

I'm looking to update my ancient i7 930 and GTX 770 to something a little more hefty. Ideally I want something that can run a game like BF1 quite comfortably on ultra. I know it's probably not the most recent or efficiently optimised game out there but that'd be my benchmark right now.

In that regard, could I get away with something like a Ryzen 5 with a GTX 1060? Ultimately I want to aim for the £1000 mark but could probably stretch a couple hundred more if need be. Either pre-built or new builds are fine with me. I've been out of the PC gaming world for a while so I'm a little rusty with the choices on offer, especially with Ryzen on the scene.

these are prebuilt systems for ideas, dont know what your preferred method is, they are just examples.

both have ssd + mech, both only optioned AMD graphic cards, but for amd i went with the 6 core as its in budget.

shipping is what puts them over the £1000 budget so for a self build do bare that in mind.

Went for the self build as pre build is listed above

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £935.41
(includes shipping: £12.60)

Copy your windows to the SSD and use as another storage drive. If you don't need any drives then you can pump up to gtx 1070 or AIO etc etc

Intel version and will beat Ryzen 1600/1400 with gaming at 1080p

Total: £993.37
(includes shipping: £12.60)
