I have a box, power supply SSD and I need a motherboard, processor and memory as the existing kit was an old Pentium. I also have a Windows 7 unused OS DVD.

I have seen this for £99:

Catalyst Dual Core AMD FM2 3.6GHz 4GB Gaming Motherboard and Processor Bundle

Would this be OK for a 10year olds first PC (don't laugh! I know it's probably 2 years out of date).

I have looked at upgrading with a current motherboard / intel I3 BUT it appears that Skylake and Kaby lake will not run Windows 7 and I don't want to buy a new OS at this stage.

Thanks for any thoughts. Mel

Not sure if it helps but i believer you can still do the win10 upgrade for free if download from MS site. Just all the prompts etc have gone

Yep just download the media creation tool and choose upgrade.

Well I have bought it. I will install win 7 and then see if I can upgrade to Win 10 afterwards. Got it for £90 so I thought it was worth a punt!

Thanks, Mel
