Hi
I think my 9700 just died. Came back to PC to see 2 blank screens. Restarted and worked for 10 mins and went blank again. Sound static and g15 keyboard lcd frozen.

Took apart and cleared dust. Checked cpu and fan, seated firmly. Turned on and fan working but still 2 screens with "stars". Double fans on HD 9700, one was turning.

TL;DR
What is a good card to equal if not better 9700 with HD screen, ideally around £200
Thanks for your time.

Not gonna lie, ocuk doing good deal on Red Dragon 8GB rx580 and Freesync monitors are have the price of G-sync if you haven't got a sync monitor and planning for the future :)

running a benq xl2411T @ 144hz at the moment, if that changes anything
Off to work now, will review when there on break so can get something ordered.

thanks quick replies, not been on here for a while but nice to see community still busy and as helpful as ever :)

Was on offer at £270

Having problem though :( Arrived and went to fit. The 8 slot power connection wont accept my 2x4 connectors from my XFX Pro 550w PSU supply. The shapes look fine but the right side 4 (outermost on card) will only take the plug half way and applied quite a lot of force to check

Tried card with just the other 6 pin connected but obviously not enough as doesn't work with just that :(

PSU has 2x6 pin and this one 2x4 pin (One cable but the connector is in 2 parts, not one unit)

Anyone else had trouble fitting these or have I fubar on choice fitting my system

Ok, just realised my other 6 pin had a 2 pin attached to cable body. Connected both 6 pins and the 2 pin but when I start up my screen is just lit with white screen and all the pixels flicking between the colours.

PSU not up to it or faulty card?

Just plugged into sons older pc, with a Kulink 500w PSU and the windows 10 logo screen shows fine.
on mine I briefly get the windows logo window then the white screen with pixelmania before it would normally show the logon :(

Surely my PSU is powerful enough for this card!

dragon like my Aorus XTR needs 6 pin + 4 pin

the two 4 Pin connectors that wont go into the GPU should like CPU power !!!!!!!!! these have different grounding and can wreck your PSU or GPU if you force them in and turn on!

your sons kolink my run it but once its overclocked it will struggle as a note ...

is your PSU this one

looking at the stats youve got the right connections if you have got the Dragon version

Fixed PCI-E Connectors : 1x 6-pin, 1x 6+2-pin

it also has 2 types of connections for CPU 8 pin as well

Fixed ATX12V / EPS12V : One 4+4-pin, One EPS 12V 8-pin

Fixed Motherboard Connector : 20+4-Pin

As mentioned by Orbital, you are trying to plug the cpu cable into the gpu and that is why it won't fit. The 2 x 4 pin (Or 4 +4) is for the cpu. A gpu cable is either 6 pin or 6 + 2 pin. The correct cable should say pcie or vga etc.

The XFX psu you have will handle it fine.

Top card, the Devil version.
I didnt turn on with connectors, they would not go in so stopped. Son's PC started up after that, so new card still works.

That is my PSU linked.
I found the connector after, silly me did not notice the 2 pin connected to one of the 6pin cables as distracted with seeing the 2x4 first.

I have since updated my gigabyte mobo to latest bios to rule that out, still artefacts after briefly showing windows 10 icon before logon screen shows
I have AMD drivers 17.7.2 which is latest bar a new 17.10. optional one.

Not sure where issue lies at the moment, the card works as proven in sons older PC.
Updated BIOS on Mobo
GFX card drivers latest

Unknown is if its related to PSU supply

Not great, £270 card I cant use
