Last of Us remastered [Advice]

GOAT for me.

Edit. Well.. the first time I played it, I never got past the docks at the beginning on ps3. (Gave up at that part) until the remaster on the PS4.

Hmm, the docks? With all the guys and the containers?

The dock wasn't the best of areas but it's a good place to get you into some of the combat mechanics. All this talk is making me want to play through it again. A game I already bought twice physical and then once digital.

Yep. Literally right at the start when you’re tracking that guy down for the missing weapons or something.

Oh, that was a little fun. The first time I played it, it was Downtown that got me with the clickers. I couldn’t get past that years ago. That building was terrifying with headphones. :D

26:15, love the subtle soundtrack that is quite simliar to the shipyard in Uncharted 3. Love how everything about The Last of Us is listening for every direction in between taking chances.

Throwing a Molotov at a clicker causes a shed load of noise. Which attracts other clickers. And they all just burn in one big pile. Haha. Best way to get rid of a pack.

The best part of the game was the pitch black basement with the generator. Proper panic :D

Usually throw in a brick, then a bottle to get more in before the molotov. When I replay that again on Grounded Plus I’ll see if I can do it without wasting molotovs. Take out the screamers and pulverise each clicker and run for each brick memorizing each bricks location. As long as you run and be aware of where they walk fast after you, they cannot catch you.

I always liked to throw a brick in a doorway followed by a molotov once they had already gathered. Maximum damage for the same cost.

I managed to run past them all at the generator without getting hit or using any items on my third try :p

The game definitely gets more interesting after you realise that you don't need to kill everything. I enjoyed my second play through much more than the first. At first I just played it like Uncharted but the stealth is actually quite good and I don't normally like stealth areas in games. The generator first time around I was bricking it.

Heh, I jumped the first time in the water when the light fell. Those screams though and that big thing you know what that started moving in the shadows. Let alone the brief movements when you picked up the key card. :o

I literally searched the entire basement for the keycard to get out. Took me ages haha.

The entire time I was like I can’t wait for this to be over :D very tense!

I remember outlast had a similar bit with a generator too.

What floor was it on, were there three or two? I cannot remember except it was in a room with 3 openings when you came out. Think it was above the generator floor?

so i finished it, Hugely disappointed to be honest.

i was starting to like it at one point (my spoilers are not working :S)

i actually felt something, but then it turned into boredom again with more humans. what felt like end waves of people to dodge.

The ending was the biggest disappoint though.

For me I know this going to crap on people but

6.5 out of 10

bad
  • -1 for terrible AI specially at the end.
  • -1 A lot of what felt like Filler content (Silly "boss" zombies") & other odd puzzles.
  • -1 disappointing ending to the Game
  • -.5 for the generic main chracter/Mechanics from NG games.

Terrible AI? They were adapting to my gameplay.

I don’t remember any puzzles...
the AI is terrible people in this thread have even agreed with it.

Ellie is rarely near you.
Your partners run in front of clickers when your crouching around.
Human AI don't react to your companions for the most part.

Its hugely immesion breaking knowing they can sprint out Whilst you go through the whole section in stealth.

The silly ladder "puzzles" theirs one at the end where rather than doing the obvious of putting the ladder on the platform opposite from you (across the water). you go the long way around. for no reason what so ever :/
go to 3:30

lets not forget ellie sprints on pipe duct. when its clearly unsafe but you try it and you cannot. why??

I'm surprised you even stuck it out, you don't seem to find a positive for the game at all lol.

Each to there own we can't all like same games. I'm same with some games that are loved e.g. Dark souls I think it's boring and just crap over all nothing about it is interesting

You don't know if its good till you completed it.

To me the story was ok/good until the end cinematic.
What I feel disappointed about this everyone calls this a masterpiece when its a copy of paste of all uncharted mechanics and generic character.

Uncharted 1 did the story and gameplay better 2 odd years before.

You look at this, then you look at something like witcher 3
(another game people call a masterpiece) and its night and day.

Last of us is decent game. It just not a masterpiece everyone says it is.

That's why I'm disappointed.
