Been following this for the past few days, now, i cannot imagine what this family has been through in the past 5 years, especially the children and the wife, but, does anyone else think there is more to this than it seems, the father has some very suspect acquaintances from what I have read, Islamist one's.

"Mr Boyle was once married to a woman who espoused radical Islamist views and is the sister of a former Guantanamo Bay inmate, Omar Khadr. CNN suggested he might fear prosecution by the US authorities. "

This is what one of the parents said also:

"What I can say is taking your pregnant wife to a very dangerous place is to me and the kind of person I am, is unconscionable," Jim Coleman told ABC News following their rescue on Wednesday.

"I can't imagine doing that myself. But, I think that's all I want to say about that."

Something doesn't sit right with me regarding having kids in captivity, are they really his?
 
He seems a bit of a nutjob. Taking his then pregnant wife 'backpacking' in Afghanistan seems to confirm that.
Not sure they should have let him back in tbh, at least not without some very serious questions to answer.
 
He went to join taliban didnt like it and they wouldnt let him leave.

Cant have been a bad prision if they let them have sex etc

Future suicide bomber i rekon.
 
Why would you have kids in captivity?????? This is all I could think when reading this article. Glad I wasn’t the only one thinking this

I would imagine contraception would have been pretty hard to come by...............
 
Typical Canadian response, they just can't help playing the Liberal card, if they get bitten by this troublemaker they won't have my sympathy. Should have been droned when he was out there doing "whatever".
 
Yes first thought was "ow thats nice", second is "wait how did he get captured, prolly an aid worker", the news reader continues, he and his miss's were back packing across Afghanistan, "lolz yeah right, or he is a complete nutter".
 
Something definitely fishy about this whole thing. I mean you have got to be short of a few brain cells to take your pregnant wife backpacking in Afghanistan of all places and especially in the areas they were ‘supposedly’ backpacking.

Not sure what to make of the whole thing, 5 yrs in captivity and now all of a sudden they are released.
 
Obviously, this guy took this family to try to join them over there, but for some reason got rejected, maybe he got asked for more money or asked to do something that he didn't want to do, like return back home and become a bomber.

His first marriage was to Zaynab Khadr, who's father was a close friend of Osama Bin Laden and her brother murdered a US soldier.

His second marriage, when his wife was 5 months pregnant, they decided to go backpacking in Afghanistan with their kids, they wasn't the "hiking types" to do this.

Snap back to now, the guy is crapping his pants and refused to board an American plane and officials present said, that he was very nervous, on top of that he comes out with a trimmed beard while his wife is still head to toe in black.

There is a hell a lot more to their story, guy needs watching.
