Hi everyone

Just wondering if any of you lovely people could help me spec a new gaming PC.
I have a budget of £1500 including screen (27inch and above if possible).
Do not need operating system.

Thanks in advance for any help

Just gaming, and only gaming? Also how long would it be before you intend to upgrade it? Some people keep systems 1 year, others 6+ and it makes a difference when specifying the system.

^^^ above will help narrow down some more detailed builds

few rough ones- no idea on your storage space- or required screen size/ resolution - if you favour one brand or system vendor over another

amd with freesync 1080p 144hz monitor and AMD freesync card

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,372.70
(includes shipping: £20.82)

ryzen + vega 56 + 1440p 144hz monitor > is 24" - would prefer 27" but out of budget - few things toned down

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,526.18
(includes shipping: £15.30)

inel 8400 + 1440p 144hz 24" + rx 580 - lower power then the Vega above but can play games at 1440p with some settings dailed down a little

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £1,424.58
(includes shipping: £14.70)

others might list pre-build or more detailed system for you

Hi
Thank you for the reply's and sorry didn't give you much info.
The Pc is going to be mainly for gaming and just other normal day to day stuff ie browsing, email etc.
If possible i would like something that is going to last a few years as not one to keep upgrading every year.
Storage wise i was hoping at least a 250g ssd(more if possible) and a 1tb HDD.
No preferred vendor .
Screen size would be 27inch if possible.
As to resolution well not sure to be honest.Would you be able to let me know pros and cons between going 1080p or 1440p ?
Basically not as clued up as you guys on this and dont want to spend my money and end up with a crock of ** Fully Star out swearing ** :).
Thanks again and i hope this is the info you need.

intel i5 8400 is better for gaming in most of the cases- and should last a while but as in terms of upgrading, its a closed system unless you grab a i7 K version in the near future.
AMD have confirmed 3 generations on chips on the AM4 socket, so current boards will accept newer CPU's down the line - mean in 5 years time you could pick up a 3rd Gen Ryzen chip. AMD given no clue about them but might increase core count but speed should be up!

I spec's the systems with SSD/HDD combo to make life easier , top one having double the space :) Trying to find a 27" monitor with Freesync proved a bit tricky, can get monitors that size without and would be cheaper.

worth doing some research on freesync- Gsync to see why its a good thing to have if you can budget it in

Regarding the monitor I picked up a 27" AOC G2778V, whilst I don't currently use freesync it does have this...although 'only' 75hz. Really happy with the screen and at 'only' £170ish won't break the bank.

@Andyj61

forgot to ask, would you be self building or want it off the shelf ?

Sorry I wasn't the OP :P I was just recommending a 27" Freesync after you had mentioned they were tricky to come by. :)
