It's winter - best car jump starter?

It would be impossible for this to jump start a car.
It may put in a surface charge into a battery with not quite enough juice after 15 minutes, but no way jump start in a million years.

It'll quite easy start a car.

I carry one of these and it easily jump starts my Westfield.

Although if you need to jumpstart your car for any other reason than accidentally leaving the lights on then you need a new battery or sort your charging system out.

If a bit of cold weather is enough to make you need a jump start then you need a new battery anyway.

Far better off spending that money on a new battery for your car if you think your going get starting problems when the weather gets colder..

This would be useful for cars that sit for long periods and dont have access to a socket for a trickle charger.

I'd go down the cheapy high discharge LiPo & some alligator clips route if you just want one for emergencies, but would 2nd just buying a new battery if it's that much of a concern.

Replace your battery if it’s iffy and carry jump leads.

I’d highly recommend removing the battery from the car and charging it overnight - people often forget that an alternator will only maintain a battery’s state of charge and not put much back in unless you do some very long journeys.

About 6 weeks ago I charged my partners Focus diesels battery after the stop-start stopped working, my charger reported it was healthy but low in change hence the stop start ceasing to function, after refitting the battery the stop start has started working again and it’s been fine ever since. :)

I have the 18,000mah version at it will easily start my 3.0D x5 from flat.

I was on a trackday recently where the lights were inadvertently left on all day, don't ask.....
when I tried to start the car, the starter motor didn't even click.

Connected the booster, walked to the divers side and turned the key. It fired up instantly.

I highly recommend one. A flat battery isn't always caused by a poor charging system or old battery. Sometimes it's just a simple mistake where a light is left on overnight and one of these is perfect.

I also used it to start a motorhome on the ferry earlier this year and the driver couldn't believe such a small powerpack could be so good.
