Hi all,
I have been recently looking to upgrade my graphics card, but have been struggling to find any real bargains in the MM or on eBay.
If I'm going to spend more than a couple of hundred quid on a second hand card, I'm probably better off making the investment in a new rig anyway.
I've built all my own computers over the years so have no problems with the basics, but my real life has nothing to do with computers or hardware and I haven't kept up with what's what, so I'm massively out of the loop on what's good, what's not, and what's good value.
From my current setup I think I can re-use the following:-
(Keyboard, Mouse, Speakers, optical drives, etc......)
Kingston HyperX 120GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Drive (SH100S3120G) - Currently used as a Windows drive
Corsair Force GT 240GB 2.5" SATA 6Gbs Solid State Hard Drive (CSSD-F240GBGT-BK) - Currently being used as a Steam/games drive
Western Digital Caviar Blue 500GB SATA 6Gbs 16MB Cache - OEM (WD5000AAKX) - Currently a storage drive
NZXT Phantom Enthusiast USB3.0 Full Tower Case - Black
Corsair HX 750W ATX Modular SLI Compliant Power Supply (CMPSU-750HXUK)
So.........
I 'think' I just need the mother board, CPU & cooler, GPU, RAM, OS, and some SATA cables as mine suck and come loose sometimes
It's quite possible I've missed something too.
I've got a 1080 monitor (BenQ RL2455HM 24" Widescreen LED Monitor - BlackRed) which I don't intend to upgrade just yet, but I suppose if I'm biting the bullet and effectively getting a new system, it should probably be capable of gaming at a higher resolution when the time comes for a better monitor.
The machine is basically just for gaming, and I'm not looking to spend more than a grand. I 'can' spend more if needs be, I'd prefer to spend less, and I know this isn't the forum for this last bit but any recommendations on a decent wireless headset would be great too.
Thanks in advance, I've been here for years and I know there'll be plenty of super knowledgeable replies and I appreciate the time :thumbs up:
