Was it? Or was it an over-reaction to being threatened, an escalation of violence? Or was it defence because they thought (probably with good reason) that their lives were at risk? I expect that's what their defence will be.

If you're classifying all politically motivated attacks as terrorism, then the politically motivated attacks on the white nationalists were also terrorism. I think the definition of terrorism should be a bit tighter than any and all politically motivated violence.

Shooting is not the defining moment that an attack becomes terrorism. If a group of people initiate any form of offense against others with political goals be it armed or otherwise , that's a terrorist attack. Please start posting about these attacks on innocent people which have been well documented in the media to address your bias.
