Hi

I currently have:-

Gigabyte UD5H-BK
4790k
AVEXIR Original Blitz Series Golden 16GB
Gigabyte 980ti
Corsair Hydro Series H110i

I can upgrade my motherboard in the Gigabyte 2 for 1 offer to a new Z370 series motherboard.

So it is looking like:-

AORUS Z370 Gaming 5
8700k

What can I reuse? I think it will just be new RAM? Can anyone help me fill in the gaps of what I need?

Appreciate your help

Sorry missed the PSU bit, it is Supernova 1000w Modular GOLD PSU

Mainly upgrading for the free motherboard swap, so thought might as well

That's roughly the performance gain you'd be looking at. Big in some games, not so much in others

On ebay 4790k's are selling for ~£200 which I'm quite impressed by. For only ~£150 of extra outlay it could definitely be worth the upgrade depending on the games and applications you use.

You'd just need the CPU (but good luck getting one anytime soon) and possibly a 1080ti if you were going all out. But Volta should be here next summer, so you could hold out until then.

What's resolution and refresh rate of your monitor?

Which memory would be a good buy?

I'm happy to hold of GPU upgrade, still have a massive backlog and it isn't causing any issues at the moment.

Monitor is Acer 27 inch Predator @ 2560x1440

I’d upgrade as the time you have left for it is running out, I’d also grab the 8 pack ram specd by @orbitalwalsh its the perfect combo with that chip as clocking abilities are huge. You can get a decent price looking on eBay as a guide if you want to sell your old stuff on after upgrade
