I have the original Apple Store order for delivery on 3rd nov showing declined.

I've just ordered another with Carphone Warehouse (SIM free) for delivery on the 3rd Nov.

Would prefer to cancel the CW one and keep the Apple one, will have to see what happens with the Apple order I guess.

You can’t reserve for in store. Only for iPhone Upgrade program

You can reserve using upgrade programme option and then, at collection, pay in full instead of taking credit. That's how it was last year.

That's my plan, though if the Apple one goes through and they honour the delivery date I will cancel the CW one, or sell it on eBay for profit (if possible).

Will keep my Apple order live for now and cancel if the carphonewarehouse one turns up on time.

I don't think so, Curry's and other resellers that sell SIM free phones don't lock so I wouldn't have thought CW is any different.

Remember guys, when paying with a debit card Apple take the money now, not when they ship the order. You'll have £999 out your bank for a few weeks.
Credit Cards get charged when the order ships.

Managed to get mine ordered 8:06 for the 3rd, took forever for the store to come up for me, was done within 40 seconds after that. Then refreshed the store page on my pc and it had already slipped to 2-3 weeks.

To be honest, CPW is probably the only place I'd trust (out of the networks) with order dates, at least if they slip you can either cancel or they credit you £25. CPW Iphones no longer lock to the first sim.

Any downside to ordering from CPW? I recall them being horrendous to deal with years back but nowadays isn't it much the same as direct from Apple?

i.e. the genius bar won't treat me like a peasant if I say it's not bought from an Apple store will they?

Had no issues with them personally.. I ended up taking my Galaxy S8 back after a few weeks for a refund and they refunded without question so they have been fine.
