My Dad has a 2005 W211 E320 CDI

Recently he has been getting "Convenience features disabled" come up on the dash,Now both batterys are brand new we replaced them like 4 months ago.

What do you think is the culprit here,Is it the Alternator or the battery control module do you think?

Altenator is crazy expensive so ideally dont want to have to buy that for it not to fix the problem,im just concerned cos the heater does not work if the Convenience features get disabled and with winter comming up its a must, especially for clearing the windows too so want to get it sorted for him.

appreciate any help.

It will likely need plugging in with a diagnostic machine. I had similar issues on an SL55 of a similar age, although it was a while back now!

What brand replacement battery/batteries did you get?

Are you able to check the voltage with a meter when the engine is on/off?

Does the car get left for a long time between uses?

If nothing is obviously causing it, getting it on STAR would be the next step. I used to get the same message when the original main battery was on it's way out - replaced for a new Bosch one and it's been fine ever since even after leaving it for a couple of weeks.
