Just thought I should mention it looks like some Johnny Foreigner is trying to hack EA accounts they tried to do mine but Mobile security stopped them.

I got a text message in a foreign language that looked like the EA security code one. So it is worth using that or even the App to stop these rotters.

I had my account hacked in August.

I had to contact customer support as they had altered all of my details and removed all of my friends.

If you haven't set up 2 factor authentication with them then you will be likely at risk. Change your password and get 2 factor authentication sorted.

This is what I did as soon as the option was available. Some idiot hacked my Origin account about 2 or 3 years back. So I now set up 2 step authentication on every account that I have that allows it.

So you've gone and changed your password, right?

I didnt really have to because the mobile authentication stopped them but I did anyway. Its happened again this time the EA mobile message was in German. Looks like some people are just trying their luck.

I've also downloaded my security codes too so if I do get hacked I can get my account back using the codes.

I really would change your password. It is possible to bypass 2FA through customer support without much issue, there's some articles on it here and there. Also, do you use the same password on a lot of sites? You may have had your details stolen in one of the many security breaches of late and they could be trying your email and password combo on every site they can think of.

I did say I changed my password in the quote! :) No it was a new one. People dont need to steal your details. If your profile is public anyone can find your user id then try to log in. Anyone playing online games can find your id.

update: So I just got two more txt messages. I've changed my password again and I've also changed my email address, my EA ID and my backup codes. Hopefully that will stop them.
