Hi guys,

Looking at a potential Upgrade - Something just to increase my performance in some games as I get frame drops sometimes.

Current setup;

Intel I5-6600k *OVERCLOCKED*
MSI RADEON R9 390 NITRO
8 GB HyperX Fury 2 x 4GB
MSI Z170m Mortar Motherboard
*Not sure of CPU Cooler of PSU*

Budget to upgrade would be around £300-£400.

Thanks.

what resolution you gaming at? slapping in a second hand 6700/7700k might be of help and give your rig a bit longer life - rest of case could be put to GPU or better screen?

Currently gaming at 1080p. What GPU/Monitor would you recommend? I can obviously sell the current GPU if buying a new one, upping the budget a little. Thanks

its the fact of the higher the Res, the less stress is placed on your CPU, meaning i5 meant get a bit more life to it or using second hand i7 compared to going balls deep in a new system

does your screen have freesync ? also try upscaling your games you currently play from 1080p to 1440p . worth having an overlay to see how much percentage your CPU and GPU are being used at your games @1080p then see what it fairs with 1440p

games now are starting to be recommend with 16GB, if running the above, might find extra ram is worth it .

free-sync screens are a lot cheaper then g-sync at moment
