what resolution will you be gaming at ? guessing 1080p?
should be some good deals going on the 7700k due to cofeelake 8700/8600k being prices up. although the i5 8600k does perform at the same level as the 7700k - food for thought

and just for the hell out it, ryzen spec i just listed up as another thought

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £998.51
(includes shipping: £11.70)

others will explain you can get windows for about £25 ;)

Yeah would be 1080p, well to monitor is 4+ years old at 60hrz, this will get upgraded sometime next year. I do have a ryzen spec, almost exact same build, same price but with Ryzen 5/7. Im just not sure what to go for. Been out the game for awhile

i3 coffee lake is now 4 cores- takes a lot of people a while to get use to the fact as they always see i5 as recommendations on games, and you go quote an i3 which is more powerful then any of the last Gens and still want an i5 haha

I'm curious about Ryzen - what happens if you pair it with 2400MHz memory instead of 3000MHz? How many FPS does this lose in games (if any?)
