You can get a r9-290 for £100 on the bay, once overclocked they give the 480/580 and 1060 a run for there money, great cards. For longevity it’s the best card I have owned, mines still going strong, even for VR! and I can’t see myself replacing it until 4K suitable GPU’s drop to £300

Except you can't - filtering for "sold items" and other than the rare outlier, majority go for £130-£160.
Wow, that’s a pretty severe price increase over the last few months, at the back end of June, you could pick them up for less than £100, I bought one for £75 plus £10 p&p for a cheap and cheerful build made from 2nd hand parts for my mates son..
I wonder if it’s mining related?
Defo I sold a faulty 390 for 85£ plus 10 postage which sold in four minutes in july

I'm sure CEX's prices are the same in the UK as they are in Ireland and I know they have HD7850 2GB's here for €50 which is what, £45 or less? Just get one of those. It would be sort of between a GTX750Ti and a GTX1050 in performance which is not bad for that money. £100 for a 960 is ridiculous, might as well get a new GTX1050.
