So....I originally scoffed at the animated emojis...but I've probably now sent about 20 to various people, they're brilliant fun :D
 
Arrived... get in. So little faith I had in cpw.

Cases - what people going for? The official Apple silicone looks good I’ve had a few though on my 7 and they don’t last that long, the edges start to break

Only 15 minute wait outside until I got in, was heaving inside.

Had a play with one of the ones on display. Turns out they've switched off reachability by default now, you have to turn it back on in the accessibility settings and then you can swipe down on the bar to activate it.

I also found the default app switch functionality for force closing apps a bit odd. Now when you have the app switcher open, you swipe up to close an app and it returns you to the home screen :confused: Seems you have to press and hold to get it into a state where you can mass swipe up on apps to close them one after the other.

Did you get yours sorted? :)

First impressions are good but I can't help but feel that it would have been better in a form factor the same as the iPhone Plus. That way it would have had an utterly massive screen.
Maybe next year.
 
I actually really like how the black bar at the top looks with apps that have integrated the space properly. Sky sports for example looks really smart
 
Been playing around with the X for about an hour now, coming from a 7+ I'm not really blown away. Thinking I might prefer an 8+ now as I prefer the slightly wider screen and the bigger keyboard.

Will give it a week and see if I get used to it.

Yeah it feels great, but tiny. Hope they do an X+ next.
 
Played with one in CPW during lunch and am amazed how seemless the gestures are (no idea why I even doubted it when I'm fully embedded within the Apple ecosystem) and how the lack of home button doesn't feel strange at all.

I happen to be in HK this weekend so its tempting when I can pick up a 256gb for £970 there.

Yeah, haven't been this excited about a new iPhone in years -- well done Apple! I can't set it up til I get home to do a full encrypted backup and restore via iTunes, so it's sitting in the box, taunting me. At least I got it fully charged... It's an amazing device, it feels really solid. I love it.
 
Control centre top right makes getting to the camera a lot slower, bit of a downgrade there. Also the keyboard feels really small after years of plus usage. Also have swiped home a few time by acccident whilst scrolling websites...
