Hey all,

So having some issues with my gf's PC and after troubleshooting for a while thinking it may either be the psu or gpu that are causing the issue. The current parts in the system are a Sapphire HD7770 and an OCZ StealthXStream2 650W. It's had various issues: AMD Wattman crashes, core clock not ramping up properly, Crimson settings crashes etc.

Instead of just replacing the GPU I'm going to replace the PSU too as it's an aging model and if it is the issue I don't want it damaging the new card.

She mostly plays Destiny 2 and Dragon Age Inquisitions. As she has been using an old 7770 I had lying around pretty much any modern GPU will blast the pants off of it, I'm just not sure which is the best value for money at the moment. Some thing like a Gtx 1050?

The rest of her system:

i3 2100, Asus P8H77-V LE Mobo, 8GB (2x4GB) Corsair XMS3 DDR3 1600, Sandisk X110 SSD, WD Blue 500GB.

Cheers in advance!

Was avoiding the Kolink PSUs as I couldn't find any solid information on them, in the past cheapest PSUs are sometimes prone to going pop.

Also, just checking benchmarks, is there any reason to take the rx560 over a cheaper gtx 1050? Performance seems to lean in nvidia's favour.

I see but the Kolink isn't going to pop, it isn't the cheapest available globally, it's just the cheapest available here. And you don't have sufficient budget for a more expensive PSU. You can, of course, buy a more expensive PSU, but no money will be left for a graphics card.

Good to see you opted for a good psu rather than something cheap and nasty like some would have done with a tight budget like that. The Superflower you have selected has a single 12v rail of 348w and a 5 year warranty for pice of mind. I don't reckon you will get anywhere near the power draw you think and expect it will be quite a bit less than 200w at the wall. The pc in my siggy is only pulling up to 272w (used to be a bit less but I switched from a 1920x1200 monitor to a 144hz 2560x1440 Gsync monitor) at the wall while gaming and barely 300w at the wall while benching (that was at 1920x1200 so probably a little more now) with the gpu heavily overclocked on top of the cpu and memory that are always overclocked. I also have all the bits associated with watercooling as well so 6x 120mm fans, 2x fan controllers, 2x pumps, led's, temp monitors etc all included in those figures.

There is not a lot in it to be honest. Take a look at this review and see for yourself. In a couple of games the RX560 wins by quite a margin but the same can be said for the 1050 in a couple of games. The rest is the odd couple of fps in either cards favour.
