Well, just sold the MX5 Turbo, so in the market for another toy.

Honestly dont have a clue with what I want next so ive looked at all sorts

Petrol
RWD/4WD
Able to handle a Track Day or Two
Fun

Ive thought of another S14a but Rot is an issue on these now, looked at Impreza's but been advised against one with my budget.. So whats your suggestions guys?

What made you sell the mx-5? It seems a good fit for the sort of budget and wanting to be able to do a couple of track days etc so the reasons you got shot of it might rule out a few others

Mr2 with either a turbo or a 2zz would give you a reasonably similar experience without typical rot.

Only real pain (aside from the standard chocolate engine on the 140 but that wouldn't work for you anyway) is that access in the engine bay really isn't great

Otherwise I assume £5k(ish) would only buy you a very average s2000 now, but it could be worth a punt on one

If you can get a S2000 that would be my choice.

There's one going on S2KI for approx £4.5k iirc, got a few mods already (some you'd want to lose tbh) but needs a bit of rot sorting with your leftover £500. Oh just seen you don't want to deal with current rot lol so that's probably no good :D

That said, with waiting I picked up my facelift S2000 for just over £5k with a bit of time needing spending on it :)

£5k for a facelift S2000 is a decent price. What sort of work did it need? The engines seem pretty bulletproof although I’m sure enthusiasts will start rebuilding them soon enough. Suspension would be my major concern - a full rebuild by an expert (i.e. Center mavity) is close to £2000. Without proper geometry the handling is at best mediocre, at worst unpredictable and dangerous!

350z !!!

Nice and relaxing to drive, can be hustled around if needed, cracking sound and a nice place to be with plenty of toys (GT pack).

Or get a DC2 project car and learn how to handle having fillings shaken loose :p
