I’m using a spigen ultra hybrid case in liquid crystal colour and I think it’s fantastic for the price. Doesn’t make the phone too bulky and gives a better grip. I have always used spigen cases.

Who here has bought AppleCare + ?

I think you have to be quite careful and not put your phone in the same pocket as your keys or loose change as I can see how screens get scratched after 12+ months of being hammered daily against pointy bits of metal.

That's not very difficult really? I've never put my phone in the same pocket as my keys.

It's easy to say oh i dont like the screen Protectors, we all don't live in a clean work environment like some easy desk job, i use a spigen case with nano liquid on the screen, ok the phone does not look as sleek as default but when you pay big money for a decent phone i want it to last 2 years, not possible in my job without protection.

Have you used this Nano liquid before? How good is it. I don’t suppose it can be removed. I wonder if it good Warrenty with it being liquid absorb into glass?

I have an immaculate screen on my 7+ after a year. It lives in my pocket with no case or just a slip case. The Mrs has an immaculate screen on her 6+ after 3 years.

What about micro scratches? They really annoy me and are impossible to avoid, so I use a screen protector.

I've never had microscrathes....My GF has my iPhone 6 still, keeping it in a bag with lots of other things and still nothing. If people like to use them it's cool, I used them in the past, but saying by some, that you can't see protector Etc it's not true. I'd rather see microscrathes than ugly protector around the edges

Same, my iPhone 6 with no screen protector, which must be at least 3 years old now is still in perfect condition despite dropping it a few times (though not outside) and daily use.

Don't know why some people can't look after their own devices...a bit of common sense goes a long way. Like not putting car keys in the same pocket as your phone. :p

Day three of using the X and I’m definitely getting used to the narrower screen coming from a 7+. Don’t think I could go back to Touch ID now as Face ID is just so easy.

Using a spigen clear case off amazon, really good quality and gives good protection.

I seemed to inexplicably scratch my 6S within days of getting it, despite not going near anything metal. After that, I was less bothered about keeping it neat so I went caseless. Looks very poor now - in fact, my iPhone 4 which I had for 5 years looks better. That said, I haven’t been precious with it at all.

Doesn’t bother me though - I’ve enjoyed not having it in its case.

Edit - probably a boring comment to make at this point but for as long as this phone works and doesn’t lack true ‘next gen’ features (like how my iPhone 4 lacked 4G) I see no reason to upgrade.

If you haven't ever used a protector on your phone then I suspect it's 99.9% going to be that you don't see microscratches rather then you have never had one. Even a bit of lint in your pocket can give your phone a small abrasion, and nobody can say they keep their pockets dust and lint free at all times!

And that is fair enough, some people are really OCD others a bit more laid back.

would a iPhone x in Japan be exactly the same as purchased in uk?

But presumably no warranty in uk?

there is a legal loophole and apple system limitation which means that if you buy an iphone abroad in the U.S with applecare plus, if you smash it in uk there is no excess to pay.

that's why i always try to buy one when in usa as i am clumsy.

i would expect (but don't know for sure) that this applies to Japan sales.

I've gone in on the Apple upgrade programme so I have Applecare, I would prefer no Applecare tbh but you can't do the upgrade thing without it. The excess is £79 for a back replacement so it's hardly cheap after you've already paid £199.

I’ve got the silicone in white love it. I’ve had there cases several years love them.

Am after a wireless charger now. Thinking getting a Samsung one for £19.99 but worries it crap. People seem be going for the Belkin

Just get one of the Samsung ones, they aren't crap. In fact I'm using the one I bought alongside my S7 and it works well and appears to be quick enough to be honest. No issues and I have a case on my phone also (iPhone 8)
