A new titan X?

could have at least made it a green jelly.:p

It's killing me though lol. I find it hard to joke about it anymore. Nvidia are literally laughing their asses off. They didn't need to bring out the 1070ti and in fact screwed over their own AIB by doing so. But from a business point of view nvidia can make even more money doing this, the only card that Radeon could do okay with is the Vega 56 but now no more. Now they are releasing a Pascal Titan collectors edition card. That's how they feel about the competition.

Navi really needs to be special or Volta is going to be more of the same. I think we all know Volta is going to be similar to the leap from maxwell to Pascal at the very least. Possibly might be ever so slightly a better leap. I was expecting more from Vega from what was said about it. It sounded like a lot of work went into Vega but realistically it just seems like a FuryX being shrunk and using HBM2 and a couple new features such as HBCC.

We know AMD's gpu development has been on a budget while the focus was getting Zen developed and out the door, Now they've done that we need to give them time to improve things on the GPU side. Hopefully Ryzen's doing well and more money will become available for research & development but it's gonna be a while until we see that.

AMD are separated from the GPU side of things. They formed RTG so i'm sure AMD won't be focusing on the GPU side of things. All though AMD is the parent company, Radeon technologies group was formed so they can focus more on GPU side of things. So they have separate budgets for CPU and GPU now.

Considering the new GPU's supposedly coming next year and the insane cost of this GPU, this looks like a complete waste of money to me unless its something you really need.

The problem is it's kind of a vicious cycle for AMD. They blew all their money to buy ATi and invest in getting it producing good stuff again, then their CPU development suffered, they then funneled money from their GPU division to develop decent CPUs again, and now their GPU division is suffering lol.

Hopefully sooner or later AMD will finally realise that competing with Intel and Nvidia at the same time isn't really possible and just sell ATi to Samsung or somebody so we can get proper competition going on again.

It's why there are two separate entities now. AMD solely focus on CPUs and RTG solely focus on GPU's. Obviously profits go to AMD which is the parent company.

I'm not sure where they can go with this.

Titan Xp is already fully unlocked (3840 cores) and there is no other chip in the wings, GP100 has no more SP cores and is slower due to the size of the chip (DP cores) etc.

I don't know if GP102 can perhaps work with HBM2? Although given that it already has 547GB/s memory bandwidth that probably wouldn't help much.

If it's just an RGB cooler, then lol, who buys a titan and doesn't put it under water anyway.

Maybe it is a limited run volta chip....

I never put my any of my cards under water as no need to, would not matter much on Pascal as no modded bios so limited by power level of whatever 3d party card you can get a bios from.

My 1080tis boost much harder under water than they did before. It's also much quieter.
