Just a heads up for those wanting to try it, I've never played it so have no opinions on it other than hearing about it's flop when it was released.

Perhaps one big problem was the graphical downgrade it was given that put folk off it in first place.

It's ok, worth being free. The problem I had with it is that I come straight from playing Sleeping Dogs, which I loved, to this which I just never got into.

Par for the course for ubisoft unfortunately. You just sorry of accept that's going to happen. Like EA and DLC.

It was a nice idea, but it just ended up being crap GTA. A bit like Mafia 2 and 3.

That and Ubisoft games all use the same basic formula for their gameplay.

Its more Max Payne than GTA I thought, and I personally enjoyed it loads -just the slo mo shooting mechanics and all. THe biggest issue with the game was graphics downgrade compared to prerelease demos, but this was rectifiable with a mod eg

It's funny that even an association with Ubisoft is enough to ensure negative feelings. A free game of this sort from a big budget studio is definitely something I'd snap up though, and without any real expectations it'll probably be less of a disappointment if it's bad.

Might give it a go just for the sheer fact that I lived in Chicago for a year so be nice to see how they modelled it in game.
