I'm going to tackle the dreaded hall, stairs and landing soon. Really not looking forward to it, but it needs doing.

The one thing I'm not sure how to do is cutting in against the ceiling over the stairs?

I have a combi ladder, which I'm thinking will probably give me access to a reasonable part of it, but I cant imagine I'll be able to get all of it, even if I'm stretching.

Do you think I stand a reasonable chance with a paint brush taped on a decorating pole? Or is that stupid? I don't think it has to be perfect, as I doubt people are going to notice that much.

Cant really be bothered to hire a platform or something, + my cars pathetic so I probably wouldn't even get it home lol.

I use a 3 meter combi ladder, and fold the top section horizontal so you have a sort of working platform to sit on. Definitely make sure you have sufficient angle so it leans into the wall...

I still poo myself a little when I look down and see a 4m or so drop.

I took the easier option and went with white walls. We live in a town house with soft walls, so I was worried the ladder would just damage the plaster. In the end I did the 3 floors in 2 days using a roller with extension tubing and a clamp thing to hold a paint brush to get in the corners (was <10 online and fixed on that the extension tube). We have no windows in the stairs so with replacing the downlighting to lower power LED generally it's an improvement. If I had to use a different colour I'd pay someone.
