I need a good faker... christmas tree for fake sake

My brother has already put up his tree.... facebook is tearing him to shreds at the moment.

I get the impression I'll need to call into shops for a definitive result... ordering online seems a bit risky.

We got a real tree once. NEVER AGAIN!

The needles around the tree I can deal with, the problem comes when you have to remove the thing. Needles everywhere! The ones that got into the french door runners were the worst!

We dumped the thing in the back garden for a few days wondering what to do with it. There's no way in hell its going in my car to the tip! I came home one day and it was gone. Turns out the council were cutting the bushes out the back and they had a chipper. The mrs went out in a low cut top, fluttered my eyelids a bit, and the guys even dragged it out the back garden for her :P

Not sure what I'd have done with it otherwise tbh. Burnt it?

Our nordmann didn't drop 1 needle and has grown a few inches this year.
Is not the cheap sort. Don't confuse all trees with the needle droppers

Our fake tree is from Balsam Hill.
Got it a couple of years ago and will last for as long as I can be bothered with it. Wasn’t cheap but will easily pay for itself over the next few years, compared with the real trees I would have to get in its place.

I can’t stand the real ones, with the needles they drop as you’re dragging it about. Hateful things.

Balsam hill one here also. With the lights already one. Still takes a bit of effort to get it up and looking good (unfolding all the branches etc but best looking fake tree imho) But yeh not cheap.

i always remember my mate having a real tree that dried out in the space of 3 weeks and a small flick of a branch would result in 10 seconds of "rainfall"

we returned it to homebase in a carrier bag :D:D

You need to be spending a good £350-£500 minimum for a decent 6 foot to 8 foot tree that actually looks the part. Plenty of people try to convince themselves and others that under this budget gets close but it really doesn't.

Well, on that note, I'm out. Christmas is cancelled.

yep I seen balsam hill last night, definitely going there - gotta convince the master of the house that it's a worth while investment. The guys in work didn't seem to think so....

My wife bought half a pallet that someone had shaped into a tree, and she put lights around it. Apparently that’s our tree this year.

You can spend £50+ and it's going to be fine and infinitely better than a bald fir that's shed.

Just don't expect that realistic until you spend the big money. Either way, pine fragranced magic tree hung round back for that authentic Canadian mountain fresh smell....

I think anyone that moans about crazy needle drop on real trees have only owned cheap types like the Norway spruce and haven’t watered them.
Buy a decent Nordmann fir and keep it watered, and it will easily last 3-4 weeks without losing many needles.

Fake trees are horrible.

I think anyone who says fake trees are horrible have only owned cheap types, like ones from Tesco’s or Asda.

The assumption circle is complete.

i'll stick to my fake tree thanks
