The FPS seem kind of low to me even the CPU bound 1080p results esp for a 1080Ti over some newer games.

We just dont get games like this anymore on PC :( A title that has stood the time and still looks excellent today.

Was Crysis 1 always DX10? I thought it was one of the first DX11 game.

Well its the Origin version as I cant find the original disc I have and also I dont have a dvd drive anymore anyway. :p

IIRC I did also acquire it by other digital methods and that wouldn't work either.....

Crysis 2 launched as DX10 after claims it would be the 1st DX11 game, it took 1) a later large DX11 patch and a 2) a massive High Texture Patch to get it to its full potential.

I held of playing it at launch for the above.

The original FarCry (so basically precursor to Crysis before legal crap went on meaning they could not use FarCry name again)) was also a 1st to later get a 64bit patch which gave it massively longer draw/viewing distances and a level where you blew up a load of barrels on a cart or something.

I'm not sure how Crysis 2 could claim to be the first DX11 game when it didn't launch until 1.5 years after Dirt 2 (The actual first DX11 game)

Cannot remember 100% but Crytek had a lot of legal crap going on and as you know basically defunk but they have some game type thing coming out soon, think its free online MP.

BioShock claimed to be DX10 (one of 1st if not the 1st) but it was only the water effects at start of game AFAIR rest was DX9C

Crysis never did look like those early (alpha?) screenshots or was it video of a swampy type heat/moisture/humidity coming of the ground like most things hyped up a tad more than it was.

What about grand theft auto 5?

4 years on and there still isn't a card out there that can max it out 1080p 60fps.

I think a 1080ti gets around 35ish with all the settings turned running round the ultra grass with 8xmsaa.

I know some people say it looks better with low settings but gta looks amazing with ultra grass and 8xmsaa imo just need some cards to run it.

Play the snow level part in Crysis and see what happens when you fight alongside Prophet.

Hmm, some parts in the 40s. 1440p 1080 Ti i7 5960x

The game is very limited at any resolution to single thread tick rate - you need lots of CPU horsepower just to break 50fps average with very high settings and incredible amounts to get 100fps.
