So the lady friend asked me what I wanted for Christmas last week. Instead of the usual gadget I'll use once and not bother with ever again, I gave her quite an extensive list of movies from Criterion:

America Lost and Found: The BBS Story
The BRD Trilogy
Rosemarys Baby
Eraserhead
Mullholland Dr.
Brazil

Anyone else ever brought anything from Criterion? Any 'must buys' that no collection can do without?

Paris Texas
Days of Heaven.

..Barnes&Noble bi-annual sales was where everyone used to buy from, but I am out of touch.

Are Criterion getting into 4K discs ?, the HDR could further improve classics, and you would no longer need a multi-region drive.

Ahhh Days of Heaven... Really need to rewatch that at some point, tis going on the list!

I believe there's quite a few digital 4k transfers now. Definitely saw them for Richard III and Eraserhead.

the Brazil collection is glorious... haven't upgraded mine since the first release DVD set, but I'd buy that again given the chance.

Oddly, their Armageddon set was pretty darn good too!

If you can still get it the Criterion edition of Robocop is fantastic.. still have mine from the 90s.

This takes me back a bit... Still have a few of them. Mainly dvd versions.

Robocop, Chasing Amy, Videodrome, Seven Samurai, Modern Times, The Blob, This Is Spinal Tap and Brazil are the ones that I remember standing out from the top of my head.

Chap I used to work with had a complete Criterion collection up to a couple of years ago. It was one hell of a shelving unit to look at. God know how much the lot cost him.
