Transracial' man born white feels like he is Filipino

Well , US mental health care has always been the poor relation. I guess, for the most part, chronically mentally ill people aren't good for the inscos so most their care ends up falling on the state. Biggest mistake Thatcher ever made in the UK was closing the Asylums. So many crazy delusional people walking the streets today. Mass insanity seems to have become the new normal, Its like the walking ******* dead sometimes....

Much of the left doesn't hate Jews, it hates the Israeli government. Please don't mix up the two to your own ends.

Not that I am any particular fan of the left, but this is true. AntiZionisim =/= Antisemitisim. Thogh Zionists often seek to conflate the two for their own reasons.

Iran's position is a good example of this. Despite being an Islamic republic, Iranian Jews are actually regarded well. It is the state of Israel that the Iranians hate with a vengeance.

... I mean I know a Jamaican guy who is white but ethnically/culturally Jamaican and there isn't anything about say being ethnically British (or indeed plenty of other Western countries) that says you need be of any particular racial background.

White people (Redlegs) have lived in Jamaica/the Caribbean for a lot longer than Africans. So it really shouldn't be surprising that there are a lot of White Jamaicans.

Agreed, I hear Bob down the road mentioned he felt like a punchbag yesterday so I’m going to start a thread on OcUK for that in a minute...

Funny - I feel like a punching bag every time I participate in the Trump Presidency thread.

At least that’s generally confined to one thread, rather than the weekly Antijoke “I’m offended” thread.

Well I guess it was only a matter of time and is the next logical step.

I’ve always enjoyed Mexican food too, along with their culture and also rap and R&B so got a couple of options.

It's not really that ridiculous. People identify their 'race' not just by colour but traditions, culture and so on. A person may well fit in better with a group from another cultural and racial background and identify themselves belonging to that group.

It's all labels at the end of the day and we are of course from one race anyway.

Probably makes more sense than cases relating to gender identity (mostly but not all)

I sort of get this to a point:

I was born in Ipswich but moved to Ireland (republic) when I was 3, then the north when I was 9. I’ve only lived in Liverpool about 3 years and I would call myself Irish. I know it’s not a massively different culture but it’s not the same as UK mainland British culture, thinking and ideas etc.

But... I wouldn’t call myself trans anything and it’s just a product of my upbringing. I have a friend who is Northern Irish but of Bangladeshi descent so dark skinned etc, speaks with an Irish accent, he’s just himself. If you’ve been brought up and feel natural in that situation then you can associate with any culture, especially if people accept you. You’re not from that culture or place originally but you can say you are when you fit in well enough.

Title actually made me LOL.

Reading the reasoning in the article it makes sense in some regard, he feels more himself around certain people, but don't we all to some extent?
I like flannel shirts and boots, doesn't make me wanna be a lumberjack though.

Some. And depending on what time period. But the native population was kind of like the berbers. Clearly not Caucasian but equally not Black.

You're confusing caucasian and white. They're caucasian but the mediterranean subtype. Not all caucasians are white, natives of India are caucasian for example.

Nerfertiti was Black but also the fact that she was an exception is part of her fame.

Huh? Does she look black to you? Her bust is well known

If you were born a black female or a white male or a Chinese female or whatever, DEAL WITH IT! STOP DESTOYING SOCIETY!

Next time do not use that word partially starred - Rilot
